Steven Sutton the owner of Devoción (launched in 2006), a company that markets high end Colombian coffee, directly from Colombian farmers to coffee enthusiasts in the U.S and in Colombia. Devoción also operates two Cafes, one in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and one  in Bogotá.

How do you take your coffee?

Black, pure, no milk, no sugar

How many coffee cups do you drink on an average day?

10 cups.

Do you have a favorite Single-origin coffee?

Colombian 🙂 .

What was the most unusual or experimental coffee you tasted?

We have a coffee right now that is called Vientos natural…it’s one of those coffees we have experimented with and has an amazing high acidity, high tropical fruit and cacao notes to it. Definitely one of the most interesting coffees I have ever had.

From your experience, what is the most important factor when it comes to making good coffee?

Love… When you really love something you go into every single detail and go the extra length…you have to love coffee to make an exceptional cup of coffee every time.
