Looking at Zion

A Jewish Perspective on Israel-Diaspora relationship: 235 members of Jewish communities around the globe answered a questionnaire, which asked them to articulate their thoughts and feelings towards Israel

About "Looking at Zion"

As an editor and writer at Ynet (Israel’s biggest news website) for more than a decade, I became more aware of the misconceptions and stereotypes Israelis often have regarding the way Jewish people abroad perceive Israel. Consequently, the goal of my project “Looking at Zion”, is to create for members of Jewish communities around the globe an open platform in which they can communicate to the Israeli public their personal and honest views and emotions regarding Israel.

By that I wish to introduce to Israeli readers a more comprehensive look into the Israel- Diaspora relationship. It is my view that by that we will strength the relationship between the  Diaspora and Israelis and base them on knowledge and familiarity rather than misconceptions and stereotypes.

The project is based on an questionnaire, which was answered by more than 230 members of Jewish communities around the globe, asking them to articulate their thoughts and feelings towards Israel. The answers were translated to Hebrew and published in the project’s website.
