In your opinion, what importance, if any, does the existence of a Jewish state have to you personally and to Jewish people in general?

“Personally: I’m making aliya with my family – so the Jewish state is going to be my home in two months.”

Do you feel committed in some way to defend the future existence of Israel?

“Sure. I’ll blog for the Times of Israel to defend the Jewish state from its enemies. From itself. I’m making aliya with my family.”

Do you affiliate yourself with a specific denomination in Judaism? What is your view regarding the dominance of the Orthodox denomination in Israel religious establishment?

“Masorti/Conservative. I’ll support Masorti Movement in Israel to make the religious establishment more colorful. More complicated :).

Do you feel morally responsible for Israel’s actions (such as its management of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict)?

“Of course, Israel’s action are my actions – and I don’t always feel that its OK how we (Israel and I) manage our conflicts.

Can you tell us a bit about the Jewish community in your hometown?

“The vast majority of them are lost.”
